My Digital Photo Project

I'm going to embark on a photo project that will take me a few years to complete.  I'm thinking about my goals this morning for the project, and it seems pretty clear that I need solid goals and objectives if I'm ever to complete the project within the time I'll give myself to get it done. 

The project falls under the "minimalist" category of my life.  It is also under the category of "essentialism" in that the legacy and should be part of my focus.  Also, categorizing and organizing photos could be something I can get help from my mother.

My Objectives:

• To convert all paper to digital de-cluttering duplicate photos by offering them to the other family members for their albums, etc.
• To have every photo in my directory identified as to the approximate year and the people present in the photo
• To share the photos with others once complete

Steps to meeting the objectives:

1. Identify the software for the storage.  Currently I am using redundant storage in both Dropbox and Amazon Photos.  Dropbox is great for storage.  Amazon Photos allows me to upload the photos and then tag with the year.
2. Clean up Personal Drop Box Folder - by starting with current year and working backwards to the beginning
3. Check the Downloads Every Week - I need a weekly habit of cleaning up my camera on Saturdays.  I need to delete the photos I don't want to keep before opening the Dropbox app which backs up my photos to the Camera Uploads directory.  Amazon Photos is also backing up my files and this is creating a lot of extra cleanup. I don't think I need to keep photos on my camera for more than a year since everything is backed up to two different locations.
4. Clean up the Camera Uploads Folder - A one time cleanup of this folders is necessary
5. Clean up Prime Photos - A one time cleanup from things that were uploaded that shouldn't have been.
6. Work backwards from current year to oldest year - If the current year stays up to date in a regular system, then this will truly be a one time effort.
7. Once everything is labeled, make albums and share with others.

Polyvore.com Announced That It Was Shutting Down

Due to its sale, the site has closed down.  Subscribers received an email that allowed them to request a download of their data.  True to their word, I received my download link a day later.  It was a zipped file with images of my sets. 

I decided to upload them here so that adding to my Pinterest Boards would be easier.
